Leonard Jones
Leonard Jones was born in 1957 and grew up in Odessa, Texas. At the age of 9 he began sketching artwork in pastels, by 15 he had advanced to oils and was well on his way to becoming a self-taught master of oil painting.
Leonard’s creative ambitions led him to Hollywood, California. Nearly broke upon arrival, Leonard quickly propelled forward. “I knew Hollywood was the place for me. It was the place everyone came to re-invent themselves. It’s just one big colorful ‘Vanity Affair’.” laughs Leonard.
The Hollywood crowd soon dubbed Leonard “The Art Man” as he earned the “Featured Artist” title at Universal Cities TuTu Tango. Many contemporary celebrities have commissioned Leonard to produce original portraits, including Jennifer Lopez, Jay Leno, Janet Jackson, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre.
Today, Leonard’s portraits of fine cigars are highly sought after. Cigar aficionados from all over have Leonard recreate their favorite stogies in portrait form. Leonard is represented by Old Town Gallery.
